Circuit Board Mechanic 10K NTC Temperature Probe Adapter Board — Optional Protective Coating, ADS1115 Module & Temperature Probe Connect a two-wire 10K NTC temperature probe to your monitoring project with a compact, easy-to-wire adapter board from Circuit Board Mechanic. Screw terminals provide convenient connections for the probe and controller, while a through-hole 10K resistor provides the pull-up needed for the thermistor sensing circuit. Choose the adapter board by itself or add protective coating, an ADS1115 analog-to-digital converter module, and a B3435 temperature probe in your preferred cable length. Adapter board features Designed for two-wire NTC thermistor probes rated 10kΩ at 77°F (25°C). Through-hole 10K, ¼-watt resistor. Two-position screw terminal for the temperature probe. Three-position screw terminal for VCC, SIG and GND. Designed for 3.3V or 5V DC operation with compatible electronics. Nonpolar probe connection: either probe wire can connect to either probe terminal. Compact board size: approximately 1.34 × 1.10 inches / 34 × 28 mm. Accessible through-hole components and screw terminals simplify wiring and future servicing. The adapter produces an analog signal for your controller or external ADC to measure. A compatible controller and software are required to calculate and display temperature. Compatible temperature probes This adapter supports two-wire 10K NTC thermistor probes, including these common curve types: B3435 B3950 B3977 B3984 These probes share the same nominal resistance at 77°F (25°C), but their resistance changes differently as temperature changes. Select the matching thermistor curve in your controller software for correct readings. The optional probe offered with this listing is 10K NTC B3435. Optional Conformal Coating Add conformal coating to help protect the adapter board’s circuitry and solder connections from moisture, humidity, dust and contamination. This thin protective layer helps reduce the risk of corrosion and electrical leakage caused by environmental exposure. Conformal coating provides additional protection, but it does not make the board waterproof or suitable for submersion. An appropriate enclosure is still recommended. Optional ADS1115 16-bit ADC module The ADS1115 is an external analog-to-digital converter. It measures the analog voltage from the adapter board and sends a digital reading to your controller over I²C. This is useful when your controller does not have a suitable analog input, when you need additional analog inputs, or when you want a dedicated ADC for your sensing project. ADS1115 features include: 16-bit analog-to-digital conversion I²C communication Programmable gain amplifier Four single-ended inputs or two differential inputs 2.0V to 5.5V supply range Your controller’s software converts the voltage reading into temperature using the correct thermistor curve. Temperature accuracy also depends on the probe, resistor tolerance, wiring and calibration. The ADS1115 is a separate add-on module requiring wiring and compatible software. If your controller already has a suitable analog input, you may not need this option. Optional waterproof B3435 temperature probe Add a matching two-wire 10K NTC B3435 temperature probe to complete the sensing portion of your project. Protect the exposed wire ends and terminal connections from water, even when using a waterproof probe. Basic connections J1 / PROBE: Connect the two thermistor wires. Either wire can go to either terminal. J2 / VCC: Connect a suitable 3.3V or 5V DC supply. J2 / SIG: Connect to a compatible controller analog input or an ADS1115 analog input. J2 / GND: Connect to the controller’s common ground. Use the labels printed on the board when wiring. Match the supply and signal voltage to your controller’s input limits; a controller with 3.3V inputs should not receive a 5V signal. Configure your software for a 10K fixed resistor and the correct probe curve. For the optional probe sold here, select 10K NTC B3435. Temperature can be displayed in Fahrenheit or Celsius through your controller software.
